ended the third meeting of the Follow-up Commission for the Harmonization of Knowledge and Wisdom of Indigenous Peoples at the Reducing Disaster Risk in the city of Quetzaltenango. Participated in the activity

The results of this meeting will be harmonized, then, with the contributions that have been collected in previous meetings, in Jalapa Xinka linguistic community, and Coban with representatives of the people Q'eqchi 'and Poqomchi Achi.
The process will continue with a final meeting with representatives of the Garifuna people, to be held in the coming weeks, and finally present and validate the results of this process at a national meeting later this year.
This initiative is part of the Executive Secretariat CONRED has driven with the Embassy Traveling Indigenous Peoples and other state institutions, with financial support of CARE Netherlands, which seeks for the first time, recognizing the cultural diversity of the country and link to public institutions in disaster reduction.
